Ice forecast for July

At the time of drawing up the forecast in all areas of the Arctic seas the heavy type of ice conditions is observed, except a southwest part of the Chukchi Sea where the average type is observed.

The expected development of types of ice conditions in July, 2017 is given in table 1. The main features of development of ice conditions in July are:

-      improvement of ice conditions, since the suburban seas - a southwest part of Karsky and in a southwest part Chukchi the seas within July;

-     establishment of easy type of ice conditions in Karskom, in east part East Siberian and Chukchi the seas in the third decade of July,

-      establishment of average type of ice conditions in the Laptev Sea and the western part of the East Siberian Sea in the third decade of July.
