Dmitry Smirnov appointed to head the NSR Administration

Dmitry Smirnov was appointed to the position of the Head of the NSR Administration from 19th April 2016 by the Order of Federal Marine and River Transport Agency.
Dmitry Smirnov was born on the 3rd of July 1963 in St. Petersburg. In 1980 after the high school graduation, entered Naval Academy named after M.V.Frunze and graduated in 1985 as electrical engineer. In 1995 he graduated from the Interdisciplinary Institution of Advanced Training of the St. Petersburg University of Economics and Finance with a degree in "Banking".
From 1980 to 1993 he worked in Committee for State Security of the USSR (KGB). After that and up to 2003 Dmitry Smirnov was deputy director, chief executive officer in commercial entities in St. Petersburg. From 2003 to 2007 he was the Head of North-West branch of FSUE “Administration of Departmental security of the Russian Federation Ministry of Transport”.
From 2007 to 2010 Smirnov worked as Director, Deputy General Director of Closed Joint Stock Companies in St. Petersburg. From 2010 he was First Deputy General Director, General Director of FSUE "Baltic Basin Emergency and Rescue Department". In 2013-2014 he headed FSI “State Marine Rescue Service of Russia” and from 2014 to April 2016 was the first deputy head of FSI “Sea Rescue Service of Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport of Russia”.
