FTS order on setting tariffs for escort services provided by Atomflot icebreakers at NSR comes into effect

The order of the Federal Tariff Service on setting tariffs for escort services provided by Atomflot icebreakers at the Northern Sea Route comes into effect on April 19, 2014. The order was published by Rossiyskaya Gazeta on April 9, 2014.

The document states that the rates are applicable for actually rendered services and depend on the vessel's gross tonnage, ice-class, distance of escorting with icebreaker’s support, and the navigation period. Tariffs for icebreaker pilotage services are based on vessels gross tonnage: for vessels up to 5 000; for vessels 5 001 - 10 000 GRT; 10 001 - 20 000 GRT; 20 001 - 40 000 GRT; 40 001 - 100 000 GRT; more than 100 000 GRT. Rates are not differentiated depending on type of cargo. Distance of icebreaking pilotage is determined by the number of zones on the waters of the Northern Sea Route, where the icebreaker’s support was carried out.  The navigation periods for the purposes of the tariffs’ application: the summer-autumn period (from 1 July to 30 November); the winter-spring period (from 1 December to 30 June).
